Captured

You are an integral part of my life

the center in which my dreams

and strength exist.

Everything I do is connected to

this center which keeps me

steady on my feet and

the vision clear in my eyes.

My existence is the continuation

of the energies which flow from you

through those unseen strings that

connect you and me.

My dreams and strength would deplete

my existence would diminish

if even one of those strings

ceased to be.

Each time you turn away

I wonder if you'll turn back to me.

Each time you're away from me

I wonder if you feel that tug of

those unseen strings and feel

the sudden need to

return to me.

My wondering is hushed

and neither one of us knows

who's doing the tugging

but it's there

and I know you feel it

for you always turn back to me.

And each time you do

each time you put to rest

my fear of you not turning back

I am captured in

the energy of you and me.
